Here’s a
list of some of the common vegetable seeds that you can start in March in your
trays.
-Broccoli,
Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Herbs, Leeks, Lettuce, Onions, Peppers, Tomatoes.
- Use clean seeding trays, and a sterile soil mixture.
- Plant the seeds according to the pkg instructions in moist soil, and mist with water. Keep in a warm place (using a heat mat can encourage faster germination time), and cover with a plastic cover (to keep moisture in).
- As seedlings emerge, remove cover. Let the surface dry before watering as if too wet, ‘damp off’ may occur and kill the plants. Keep in a well ventilated area.
- Using grow lights give plants the correct light spectrum they need, but otherwise, place plants in a sunny spot where they can get at least 8-10 hours of light.
