Shrubs for City Yards


Here's a list of Shrubs suitable for City yards.

As when you were deciding on which trees to plant in your yard, the same considerations should be made when deciding shrubs.
  •  the various branching forms (arching - caragana; straight - dogwood; airy, open - lilac; dense - evergreen.)
  • different shapes such as upright, vase, round, oval, pyramidal, columnar.
  • characteristic colored bark (copper, white, reddish, or yellow) and varying textures (rough, peeling or smooth bark surfaces). Even evergreens have different colored ‘leaves’ ('Blue Globe' versus 'Gold Coast' junipers).

Flowers to Attract Hummingbirds and Butterflies


 Some perennials that attract hummingbirds are:
